Area of Concern Submission Form
**You may identify an Area of Concern (AOC) as a potential Safety item when it represents
a significant problem that requires immediate response at the highest level of the FAA. A
Safety Item shall be given priority consideration by the ATPAC Chairperson.
The procedures for handling Safety Items at the ATPAC Meetings are:
(1) Five minutes will be allotted to the sponsor organization (NATCA) for the presentation as to why the AOC is a Safety Issue.
(2) After the presentation a vote will be taken to determine whether the AOC is a Safety Item.
(3) If the AOC is identified as a Safety item, the committee (ATPAC) will immediately address the issue and formulate a recommendation to be forwarded to the FAA.
(4) If the AOC is not identified as a Safety item, it shall
be processed and handled in accordance with procedures for non-Safety item AOCs.
